MSOE’s Engineering Programs Ranked #9 in the U.S.

Milwaukee School of Engineering’s undergraduate engineering programs overall were ranked #9 in the United States in the 2026 U.S. News Best Colleges Rankings. This ranking is one of 11 honors the university received in U.S. News’ annual assessment of colleges and universities.

For 2026, MSOE received the following national designations in the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings:

• #9 Undergraduate Engineering Programs overall in the U.S. among engineering schools whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or master’s (tie)
• #6 Civil Engineering Program in the U.S. (tie)
• #11 Mechanical Engineering Program in the U.S.
• #212 in Undergraduate Computer Science Program in the U.S. (tie)
• #214 Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in the U.S. (tie)

Regionally, MSOE was recognized as the:

• #2 in Overall Rank – Regional Universities (Midwest) (tie)
• #4 in Best Value Schools – Regional Universities (Midwest)
• #1 in Best Colleges for Veterans – Regional Universities (Midwest)
• #2 in Most Innovative Schools – Regional Universities (Midwest)
• #7 in Undergraduate Teaching Programs – Regional Universities (Midwest) (tie)
• #41 in Top Performers in Social Mobility – Regional Universities (Midwest) (tie)

Each year, U.S. News and World Report evaluates 1,500 colleges and universities on up to 19 measures of academic quality. MSOE’s educational programs, innovation and commitment to student success were ranked in several categories, firmly placing MSOE among the best educational institutions in the United States.
