MPS Rec programs now just weeks away for residents
Statement of Alderwoman Chantia Lewis - August 9, 2017
Now that we are officially in the ‘Dog Days of Summer’ I wanted to express my excitement about the fact that MPS Recreation programs will be offered for residents this fall for the first time at Vincent High School (7501 N. Granville Rd.) in the 9th District.
In June I hosted a public listening session with Milwaukee Public Schools (Milwaukee Recreation) representatives to hear citizens’ concerns, needs and suggestions about public recreation options. That session was fruitful and it’s important to note that fall registration is now open for Milwaukee Recreation! Many classes fill quickly, so please sign up today to guarantee your spot. View a PDF at goo.gl/kwMUsy or browse the online registration system at goo.gl/uomKwl (please also look for the mailed hard copy MPS Rec Fall 2017 programs guide).
The MPS Rec presence has been brought to the district to make it easier for us to utilize the programs, so let’s support our area and get registered! I urge adults and youths to look for programs, lessons or other activities they are interested in – and sign up!
Further, access to these great offerings through MPS Rec is important and can help boost the quality of life for individuals and families. Now the time is near for taking advantage of these programs, so please don’t miss this fall’s lineup of great MPS Rec opportunities!
