MPD Officer Involved Shooting
MILWAUKEE, WI— Today, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Milwaukee Police officers went to the area of the 2700 block of North 60th Street to investigate a vehicle related to multiple business robberies.
The vehicle was located on the scene in the rear of a residence. While investigating the residence, the officers encountered an armed suspect on the rear porch.
Officers gave the suspect several commands to drop the gun. The suspect refused and gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and officers. The suspect was subsequently struck. No officers were struck by the gunfire.
The suspect is a 31-year-old male and sustained fatal gunshot injuries. The suspect’s firearm was recovered next to him. At this time, it is unknown if the suspect succumbed from an officer’s gunfire or a self-inflicted injury.
The four officers that discharged their firearm are a 46-year-old male with over 21 years of service, a 36-year-old male with over 8 years of service, a 30-year-old male with over 5 years of service and a 29-year-old male with over 11 years of service. Our officers will be placed on administrative duty as is routine in officer involved shootings.
The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team will be investigating this incident. The Brookfield Police Department is the lead agency.
This is a fluid and ongoing investigation.
