Milwaukee TV Reporter Self-Publishes First Book “On the Other Side of Everything”
Book encourages readers to embrace life and to control their own destiny
MILWAUKEE (March 6, 2023) – Months after making a life-changing career decision, former Milwaukee TV news reporter Kim Shine released her first book “On the Other Side of Everything”. It is a candid, relatable, collection of poems based on her personal experiences and life lessons.
“From the outside looking in, I think my life seems bright, well-organized and 100% positive,” Shine said. “I am extremely grateful for the good in my world, but I’ve definitely experienced deep losses that have made me question why things happen as they do. At different times, these voids have sparked moments of anxiety, joy, sadness, introspection and accountability. My book is my way of purging these feelings and taking control.”
Rooted in transparency, “On the Other Side of Everything” encourages readers to live their lives fully – by being present, grateful, honest and authentically themselves. The book begins with a poem about dealing with anxiety and continues through a journey of love, loss, freedom and empowerment.
“We are all human. We all deal with the ups and downs of life. Sometimes these moments, especially the more stressful ones, can make us feel like we’re alone. I hope my poems resonate with readers, allowing them to revisit and embrace their own experiences with grace, inspiration and action. I hope my words create a safe space for readers to take control of their lives, and a realization that we’re all connected,” Shine said.
“On the Other Side of Everything” is now available at Lion’s Tooth bookstore in Milwaukee (Bay View), and online via Amazon.com. To read a preview of her book, click here.
One reader review: “On the Other Side of Everything” feels creative, expressive, personal and inspirational all at the same time. Kimberly’s writing draws you in…invites you to stay…and gives you something to think about as you leave and go on your way to find your ‘other side of everything’.
