Milwaukee Public Library Extends Sunday Hours in July
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Public Library (MPL) is pleased to announce the extension of Sunday hours at three of its locations: Tippecanoe, Good Hope, and Central Library. Starting Sunday, July 7, these locations will be open year-round on Sundays from 1-5 pm. This expansion of hours is in direct response to the community’s expressed need for additional weekend hours.
Recognizing the importance of community-driven input, the Milwaukee Public Library initiated its “Get Loud for Libraries” campaign in 2023. This campaign conducted community outreach designed to engage with the people it serves and gather input and feedback around MPL services and resources. The resulting survey found that Saturdays and Sundays were ranked high in terms of desired days to visit.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson noted, “The extension of Sunday hours adds greater accessibility for all residents to the wide range of library offerings. It’s an investment in education, community engagement, and the overall well-being of our city.”
The Milwaukee Public Library invites the community to take advantage of these extended hours to explore the vast array of resources, programs, and services available at the Tippecanoe, Good Hope, and Central Library locations.
