Milwaukee County DHHS Hosts World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Walk and Resource Fair
The event will kick-off by proclaiming World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
MILWAUKEE—The Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Aging and Disabilities Services is hosting a community-driven event in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the McGovern Senior Center, located at 4500 W. Custer Ave., Milwaukee.
The event will include a resource fair featuring connecting attendees to services, a fun and educational round of “Scam Singo” (a bingo-style game designed to teach participants how to identify scams and fraud, with prizes), and a community walk in honor of older adults affected by abuse and neglect.
Milwaukee County DHHS Aging and Disabilities Services will also be onsite to connect residents with vital resources, including information on protective services for adults at risk, disability benefit assistance, long-term care options counseling, elder rights advocacy, and information and referral services for seniors and adults with disabilities.
