Milwaukee Arts Board Announces 2022 Application Cycle for Public Art Conservation Fund
MILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee Arts Board (MAB) is announcing that the application cycle is open for its Public Art Conservation Fund. This grant program provides funding for non-profit organizations to administer public art conversation efforts throughout Milwaukee in strengthening neighborhoods and preserving the city’s rich cultural history.
“Milwaukee’s public art installations and creative spaces add value to our neighborhoods and help folks stay active in their community,” said Mayor Cavalier Johnson. “The Milwaukee Arts Board and its partner organizations carry out invaluable work in ensuring the city’s public art assets are sustained for years to come. I am proud to support these efforts as we move Milwaukee forward together.”
The Arts Board will make $10,000 in total available for public art conversation projects in Milwaukee. Individual awards up to $5,000 must be matched by the applicant. To qualify, projects must be fully accessible to the public.
The guidelines and application are available on the Arts Board website. Applications are considered on a rolling basis as long as funds remain. At its scheduled meeting on February 8, 2022, the Board’s Public Art Subcommittee will begin reviewing applications. Applications considered at that meeting must be submitted on or before January 28, 2022. Thereafter, applications submitted at least two weeks before future regularly scheduled subcommittee meetings will be considered. Qualifying applications will be accepted until all available funds are allocated.
