McBob’s Pub & Grill To Be Featured On America’s Best Restaurants

MILWAUKEE:  – Local restaurant McBob’s Pub & Grill will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in early November 2024.

America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on November 5th.  Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Katy Klinnert and Sara McConville about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.

McBob’s has been a neighborhood gathering spot since 1986; Klinnert and McConville became owners this year. They want to continue the inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that previous owners Steve and Christine McRoberts established, as well as serving the dishes the Celtic eatery is known for, specifically the award-winning corned beef, which shows up in the Reuben sandwich, the Irish spring roll appetizer, and the McBenedict on the breakfast menu, with poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce on toasted marble rye.

Klinnert and McConville had begun a baking business during the pandemic, and had to upgrade to a commercial kitchen space due to their success. The space, Common Cookhouse, burned down in June 2022 and the pair eventually relocated their business to now-closed restaurant Whiskey Haze, also owned at the time by the McRoberts.

“We have realized that without the fire, we wouldn’t have landed where we are right now, and there’s no way we’d be buying a restaurant,” McConville told Urban Milwaukee earlier this year.

McBob’s Pub & Grill offers daily specials, catering, bingo, karaoke and watch parties as well as a full menu of appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches and burgers, Mexican dishes, entrees and the popular Friday night fish fry.

America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Tuesday November 5th from 2 pm to 5 pm CST. The press is invited to attend.
