MILWAUKEE — Claudia Paetsch, vice president for human resources at Marquette University, has been named to the Menomonee River Valley Business Improvement District #26 Board, having been confirmed to the board in September.

Paetsch joins leaders from other area organizations including Potawatomi Hotel and Casino, the Harley-Davidson Museum, Rexnord Industries, Stamm Technologies, Automation Arts, Harwood Engineering Consultants and Standard Electric Supply Company.

“I’m thrilled to join the Menomonee River Valley BID #26 Board and play a role in the continued revitalization of the Menomonee River Valley,” Paetsch said. “Marquette University benefits from the continued evolution of the Menomonee River Valley into a vibrant destination for business and commerce. The Menomonee Valley Partners have done a tremendous job over the years, and I am excited for what the future holds.”

Paetsch is responsible for the development and implementation of human resources and organizational strategies that support and enable Marquette’s mission and goals. Accountabilities for the human resources team include recruitment and retention, training and organizational development, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, total rewards (i.e., compensation, benefits and employee wellness) and human resource information systems. She also oversees the Marquette University Child Care Center. Paetsch currently serves on the HRLx advisory board for chief HR officers in higher education.

Paetsch joined Marquette in April 2019. Prior to that, she was a senior HR leader at Northwestern Mutual.

The organization serves as a convener and coordinator by engaging stakeholders, articulating a vision, leveraging funding and aligning partners to accomplish shared goals.
