MAM Announces the Return of Art in Bloom, April 1619, 2026

MILWAUKEE, WI—February 13, 2026—This April, step inside spring. Art in Bloom returns to the Milwaukee Art Museum April 16–19, filling the galleries with vibrant floral installations inspired by works from the collection. For four days only, visitors are invited to an immersive celebration of the season’s arrival and to experience art through fresh color, scent, and movement.

This year, Art in Bloom coincides with the reopening of the Museum’s refreshed Modern Wing, making this spring an especially rich moment to visit. Reopening March 15, the renewed galleries present the Museum’s celebrated collection of 20th-century art in a new installation that traces defining modern movements from German Expressionism and postwar abstraction to the bold color and form of Georgia O’Keeffe, Gabriele Münter, and Barbara Hepworth. New juxtapositions and expanded stories invite visitors to rediscover familiar favorites and encounter modernism in fresh ways—an experience that pairs naturally with Art in Bloom’s floral interpretations throughout the Museum.

“Spring is a moment of renewal at the Museum, and Art in Bloom captures that feeling beautifully,” said Kim Sajet, Donna and Donald Baumgartner Director of the Milwaukee Art Museum. “With the galleries filled with floral interpretations and the reopening of our refreshed Modern Wing, visitors are invited to experience the collection in a way that feels fresh, joyful, and entirely unique to this moment.”

Art in Bloom unfolds across four days with floral installations throughout the galleries, special programs, and evening events that offer new ways to experience the Museum. From daytime exploration to after-hours moments and a one-night-only Floral Fashion Show, visitors can plan a spring visit that fits their schedule and interests.
