Make Art MKE event comes to Mount Mary University Sunday

5^th District Alderman Lamont Westmoreland is inviting members of the community to attend the Make Art MKE event happening this Sunday, September 10 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will take place at Mount Mary University, 2900 Menomonee River Pkwy.

“The Mount Mary Starving Artists’ Show was a staple in the Milwaukee art community for over 50 years, and now Make Art MKE is stepping in to honor the history of the Mount Mary event, while pulling in local makers to showcase their talent and support the surrounding community,” said Alderman Westmoreland.

The event will feature 140+ artists and makers selling a variety of items from fine art to handmade goods, as well as local food trucks and more. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit the nearby Cooper Park Revitalization, and provide art scholarships for Milwaukee German Immersion School and Immanuel Lutheran School.
