Senior forward had fourth double-double in six games at DePaul
NEW YORK – Marquette University senior forward Liza Karlen earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after her double-double in the win at DePaul last Tuesday.
Karlen has earned seven conference honors this season, including three BIG EAST Player of the Week nods.

Aaliyah Edwards, Connecticut, Sr., F
In a 2-0 week for the 15th-ranked Huskies, Edwards averaged 21.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.0 blocks and .667 shooting. She was the BIG EAST’s top rebounder and No. 2 scorer while listing fourth in steals and field goal percentage. Edwards began the week with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double at Xavier on Wednesday before going for 26 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and career-best four steals against Georgetown on Friday. Edwards has a BIG EAST-best 14 double-doubles on the year. This is her third BIG EAST Player of the Week nod of the season and second in the last three weeks.
[inarticled]BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Savannah Catalon, Seton Hall, Fr., G
Catalon repeats as the BIG EAST’s top rookie after averaging 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and .455 shooting in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. After scoring a team-high 12 points off 5-of-10 shooting at St. John’s on Tuesday, Catalon erupted for a career-best 21 points and seven boards against DePaul on Saturday. The freshman guard was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free-throw line against the Blue Demons. The 11-of-11 mark is the second-best by a BIG EAST freshman in league history and tops since UConn’s Rebecca Lobo set the league standard on Jan. 8, 1992, going 13-for-13 from the charity stripe. This is Catalon’s second straight BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor.
