Milwaukee County shows its support for substance-free living March 18 through March 24
Milwaukee County—The RISE Drug Free MKE coalition is holding Light & Unite Red Week during National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, March 18 to March 24, to make sure that everyone, including our youth, can tell the difference between myths and facts about substances.
“A key way to prevent someone from developing a problem with alcohol and other drugs is to arm them with facts so they can make informed decisions about their health and well-being,” said De’Shawn Ewing, Community Outreach and Engagement manager at Community Advocates Public Policy Institute. “That’s why Light & Unite Red Week activities are educational, but supportive and fun, too. We want folks to know that they don’t need substances to enjoy themselves, and they aren’t alone in wanting to make changes to improve their lives.”
During Light & United Red Week, RISE Drug Free MKE coalition partners, with the support of Milwaukee County DHHS Behavioral Health Services, is offering a mix of enlightening events and activities to show our support for substance-free living Milwaukee County, especially for our youth.
