In New Interview, Ron Johnson Parrots Tucker Carlson’s Vaccine Lies
Johnson is Determined to Single-Handedly Hold Back COVID Recovery at Every Step
(MADISON) — Yesterday afternoon, Ron Johnson did another embarrassingly bad — and seriously dangerous — interview with Vicki McKenna on WIBA. On the show, he parroted Tucker Carlson’s misleading vaccine language from the evening before — a segment that was widely criticized for spreading cherry-picked numbers designed to stoke fear rather than spread real information.
“From stalling the American Rescue Plan to taking to the airwaves to spread doubt and mistrust in vaccines whenever he can, Ron Johnson is determined to single-handedly hold back our COVID recovery at every step,” said WisDems Spokesperson Joe Oslund.
Here are just a few of his dangerous comments from the show, mirroring every piece of fear mongering Tucker Carlson spouted the night before:
“But according to the VAERS system, we are over 3000 deaths after, within 30 days of taking the vaccine, about 40 percent of those occur on days zero, one or two. And I met with a group of Republican senators with the NIH director, Francis Collins, last week. And I raised that issue with him. Because he was talking about, you know, vaccine hesitancy. And I’d point out, you know, Dr. Collins, that is becoming a term of derision. Right? I said, the people I talked to — and based on the VAERS system, I would say that it’s probably more that people are hesitant to be coerced into participating in the largest drug trial in history.”
[…]
“And that’s the question we ought to be asking is, what is your risk of getting seriously ill or dying of COVID? If you’re very young, you know, again, the science tells us if you’re very young, it may be more dangerous for you to get the flu than COVID. So should you be exposing yourself, or should a parent expose their child, to a vaccine that we don’t know the long term safety effects of these? We don’t. I mean, again, I’m not, again, I’m not trying to encourage or discourage.”
[…]
“We are seeing young people die, particularly, again, this is I think a particular danger is if you are recently infected or if you’ve been previously infected by COVID. I’m talking to doctors who have since day one been concerned about vaccinating people who have already had COVID, because you die not of COVID, you die of the immune system, overreaction to COVID. And so there’s a concern there. And again, I think the government needs to be more transparent, more upfront and explain these things to people so they can make an informed choice.”
[…]
“And that’s my concern, when things don’t make sense to me. And again, I got in all kinds of trouble here. When I, I think said what is true? I mean, if you’ve been vaccinated and the science tells us the vaccine’s highly effective, vaccine, 95 percent effective, why do you really care if somebody you’re standing next to isn’t vaccinated? Again, I’m just not, I’m not understanding that, OK?”
