IBEW Local 494 Endorses Alex Lasry for U.S. Senate
MILWAUKEE – International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 494 announced its endorsement of Alex Lasry for United States Senate. The endorsement was first announced yesterday during the Wisconsin Democratic Party’s 2022 State Convention.
“IBEW 494 is proud to endorse Alex Lasry to be the next U.S. Senator from Wisconsin,” said Dean A. Warsh, Business Manager for IBEW Local 494. “We share Alex’s commitment to sustainable, progressive change in our state and in our country, and we know that Alex will be a champion for working families and their issues in Congress.
“Alex’s campaign has done what no statewide campaign in Wisconsin has done before: voting to unionize and become proud members of IBEW Local 494,” concluded Warsh. “Alex walks the walk; he doesn’t just talk about supporting organized labor. His campaign’s management immediately recognized the signed cards and agreed to neutrality. This is exactly how all workplace organizing efforts should go.”
Lasry has also been a vocal supporter of the PRO Act, a critical piece of federal legislation that would level the playing field for workers who want to join a union. On the campaign trail, Lasry has repeatedly stated that “if you’re pro-worker, you’re pro, PRO Act.”
“I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to have the support of IBEW Local 494,” said Alex Lasry. “Since day one, I have said that I will put Wisconsin’s working people at the center of my campaign, and it is a true honor to have the hard-working men and women of IBEW 494 backing my fight to bring real change to Washington and deliver results for the people of our state.”
