About A Tribe Called Quest:

Formed in 1985 in Queens, New York, A Tribe Called Quest—consisting of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White—became among the most innovative and influential hip-hop groups ever. Their unique style, blending elements of jazz, alternative rock, and socially conscious lyrics, helped create the alternative hip-hop subgenre. Albums like “People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm,” “The Low End Theory,” and “Midnight Marauders” are considered classics that shaped the course of hip-hop. As key members of the Native Tongues collective, they promoted Afrocentrism and positive messaging, influencing generations of artists and fans alike.
