MILWAUKEE –Herzing University, a leader in career-focused education, announces the launch of its Diamond Celebration commemorating 60 years of academic excellence and student success. The year-long celebration kicked off with a 60th Anniversary Luncheon in Milwaukee, where the institution’s journey began in 1965.

From its beginnings as a computer training institute founded by Henry and Suzanne Herzing, the university has grown into a respected multi-campus institution with 11 locations across eight states, plus a robust online division. Today, under the leadership of President Renee Herzing, the accredited nonprofit university serves 10,000 students and has graduated more than 50,000 professionals over six decades.

“Reflecting on and celebrating this remarkable milestone, we’re filled with gratitude, inspiration and pride – grateful for the students who have allowed us to help them on their career journeys and the communities that have welcomed our campuses, inspired by our students and alumni success stories, and proud of what we’ve built over the past 60 years,” said President Renée Herzing. “My parents’ vision of providing career-focused education has manifested into a mission of taking people from where they are to where they want to be. We’ve fundamentally changed thousands of students’ visions of themselves by giving them the skills to build their confidence. There’s truly no more significant milestone or accomplishment than that, and we can’t wait to continue doing just that for decades to come.”

Six Decades of Impact

Throughout its history, Herzing University has demonstrated consistent growth and innovation. Key milestones for the university include the launch of its online division in 2003, the transition to University status in 2009, becoming a nonprofit institution in 2015, and launch of the School of Nursing in 2022 to address the critical nursing shortage.

Today, Herzing University offers a comprehensive range of academic programs in nursing, healthcare, behavioral health, business, technology, legal studies and public safety. These programs continue to evolve to meet healthcare needs and demands of an ever-changing job market, while maintaining the founding principles of career-focused education in a caring learning environment.

As the landscape of education continues to change, Herzing prioritizes accessibility and flexibility for students of all backgrounds, a commitment recognized by U.S. News 2024 Best Online Programs rankings for Herzing’s online Bachelor’s program, online MBA program, and online Grad Nursing program, which provide accessible, high-quality education to students nationwide and globally as well as to those who are active or previously served in the military. Herzing University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a recognized institutional accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education, highlighting Herzing’s commitment to quality education and student success.
