Governor Walker Joins Ariens Company to Commemorate the Production of its 4,000,000th Sno-Thro Snow Blower
Gov. Walker proclaims October "Manufacturing Month" throughout Wisconsin
BRILLION – Governor Scott Walker today joined Ariens Company employees to commemorate the production of the company’s four-millionth Sno-Thro snow blower and the beginning of “Manufacturing Month” across Wisconsin. Ariens Company employs about 1,200 people in Brillion and began producing the Sno-Thro snow blower, its most successful product, in 1960.
“There’s no better way to kick-off Manufacturing Month than with a visit to Ariens Company as they celebrate their four-millionth Sno-Thro snow blower,” Governor Walker said. “Manufacturing is the backbone of our economy, and we’re proud of the fact that Wisconsin has created 53,400 manufacturing jobs since we took office. That’s good for top 10 in the nation. We want to see our success in manufacturing continue, and great employers like Ariens Company are making it happen.”
“These Sno-Thro snow blowers have been rolling off the line here at Ariens Company for nearly 60 years, and we are looking forward to seeing that continue for the next 60 years,” Governor Walker continued. “It was an honor to help the employees assemble the first snow blower on the way to five million!”
Ariens Company was founded in 1933 and is a fourth-generation family-owned Wisconsin business that manufactures snow blowers, lawn mowers, and lawn tractors for consumer and commercial use.
Wisconsin is a top ten state in the nation for manufacturing jobs since Governor Walker took office with the creation of 53,400 manufacturing jobs since December 2010, according to monthly job estimates provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
