Governor Evers approves WIS 100 resurfacing and pavement replacement project in Milwaukee County
To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers has approved a $13.1 million roadway resurfacing and pavement replacement project along WIS 100, between St. Martins Road and 60th Street in the city of Franklin, Milwaukee County. Hoffman Construction Company is the prime contractor for the project. Work is scheduled to begin March 24.
Improvements include:
- Replace the pavement on WIS 100 from the Root River bridge to Puetz Road.
- Resurface WIS 100 from Puetz Road to St. Martins Road, including the WIS 100 and WIS 36 (Loomis Road) intersection.
- Reconstruct the WIS 100 and 76th Street intersection.
- Replace traffic signals at 60th Street, 76th Street, and WIS 36 (Loomis Road).
- Construct new multi-use path between the Root River and WIS 36 (Loomis Road).
Traffic Impacts and Detour:
WIS 100 will be closed to through traffic from 60th Street WIS 36 (Loomis Road) during the reconstruction and pavement replacement portions of the project.
A detour will be posted utilizing 27th Street (WIS 241), Rawson Avenue (County BB), and Loomis Road (WIS 36).
Single lane closures on WIS 100 and WIS 36 during the resurfacing portion of the project between Puetz Road and St. Martins Road.
This project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2025. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
