MILWAUKEE, WICathedral Square Friends will host their 4th annual fundraiser on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will be held at the rooftop Canopy Lounge of the Ascent luxury apartments, which provides a spectacular view of Cathedral Square and the city.

The event will feature special guests Tom Barrett, former Milwaukee mayor and ambassador to Luxembourg, and Guy Smith, Executive Director of Milwaukee County Parks. They will offer brief remarks as will Cathedral Square Friends President Dave Reid.

Guests will enjoy appetizers by Bianchini Experience. The event will also feature the official DJ of the Milwaukee Bucks DJ Shawna. Complimentary wine, local craft beer, a specially designed “Featured Cocktail” or non-alcohol refresher will be provided and a cash bar will be available. New Land Enterprises is again providing a spectacular location to take in the view of Cathedral Square while supporting its resurgence.

Cathedral Square Friends raises funds to pay for the hanging flower baskets in the square each year, maintain the enhanced perimeter of the square, which includes the pavers, trees and numerous additional plantings and now the Friends are working on a new enhancement to the square.

“This year, our major project is the lighting of The Immigrant Mother statue, to enhance this work of art in the square,” said Dave Reid, president of Cathedral Square Friends.

“The great past support for this event shows the importance of Cathedral Square to the community,” Reid added.

Cathedral Square Friends would like to thank our generous supporters: Argosy Foundation, Pamela Booth and Michael Teets, Frank Burgess & Kim Morris, Milwaukee Downtown BID #21, 7SEVENTY7 Apartments, Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, and Taylor’s.
