Friends of Jackson and Manitoba Parks to Hear Ideas of Metro Mountain Bikers March 10
Milwaukee — Friends of Jackson and Manitoba Parks (FoJMParks) will feature Craig Ruhland of Metro Mountain Bikers at their March 10 meeting as the Friends group explores ways to expand use and appreciation of the southside parks.
At this meeting of the Friends group, participants will break into small teams to address priorities on the community’s wishlist, developed at its January launch — including upcoming summer and spring activities, tree plantings and other topics associated with biking. The County’s Oak Leaf Trail, a 125-mile paved bike path, runs through Jackson Park.
FoJMParks is dedicated to the inclusive, sustainable, and vibrant public spaces within Jackson and Manitoba Parks. The group aims to improve and activate the two Milwaukee County Parks through a combination of volunteer efforts, fundraising initiatives, and community-centered programming.
The March 10 presentation and meeting will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Boathouse in Jackson Park, on the south side of W. Kinnickinnic Parkway between 43rd St. and Forest Home Ave.
