To the people of Milwaukee,
I am writing to urge you to support Ismael Luna for State Assembly District 8. As the first Latina to serve in the Wisconsin Legislature, I know this district. I know its people, its culture, its history, and what it needs from its representative in Madison. And I know that Ismael Luna is the right person for this moment.
District 8 is a supermajority Latino district with a rich immigrant heritage and a proud Hispanic culture. From Mitchell Street to Walker’s Point, our city’s beloved gayborhood, this district is one of Milwaukee’s most vibrant and diverse communities. It deserves a representative who knows it and loves it the way we do.
Ismael Luna grew up right here on the South Side. He is not running for a title or a career. He is running because he has lived the struggles of the people he wants to represent, and he believes this community deserves a voice in Madison that actually fights for it.
To know that this seat could be led by an out LGBTQ+ Latino who is deeply rooted in this community and ready to fight for it is something we cannot take for granted. This is a chance we cannot let pass us by.
