Donations now being accepted for Bronzeville Sleepover for Education
The 9th annual Bronzeville Sleepover for Education, a regular event held during Bronzeville Week, is set to take place beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 11 and lasting until 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 12. Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs notes that donations for the annual event are now being accepted at various locations throughout the city.
“The Sleepover for Education helps ensure that students have the supplies necessary to start the new school year off on the right foot, and we greatly appreciate all donations,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “Community members are able to donate supplies at Pete’s Fruit Market located at 2323 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., and Rise and Grind Café at 2737 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Additionally, we will be holding a special collection event at City Hall.”Donations of school supplies can be dropped off in bins located in the first floor rotunda at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St., through the close of business daily this week. All supplies will be distributed to Milwaukee Public Schools students in need.
