Donations now being accepted for Bronzeville Sleepover for Education
The 8th annual Bronzeville Sleepover for Education, a regular event held during Bronzeville Week, is set to take place beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 12 and lasting until 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 13. Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs notes that donations for the annual event are now being accepted at various locations.
“The Sleepover for Education ensures that students have the supplies necessary to be fully prepared for the upcoming school year, and we greatly appreciate all donations,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “As of Monday, August 1 community members are able to donate supplies at Pete’s Fruit Market located at 2323 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. We will also be holding a special collection event at City Hall starting tomorrow, August 5 that will run through Saturday, August 13.” Donations of school supplies can be dropped off in bins located in the first floor rotunda at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St., through the close of business daily.
