DNC Announces Investment into Wisconsin Coordinated Campaign, Turbocharging Organizing Ahead of April 1 Elections
DNC announces historically-early investment in WI ahead of critical elections, including for State Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford and Superintendent candidate Dr. Jill Underly
Today, as early voting kicks off in Wisconsin’s pivotal April elections, the Democratic National Committee announced a historically-early investment into the Wisconsin Democratic coordinated campaign to fight back against Elon Musk and other MAGA billionaires trying to buy this election for Trump’s hand-picked candidates. To turbocharge grassroots organizing on the ground, the Democratic Party will host phone banks and call more than 2 million Wisconsin voters in support of candidates that will move Wisconsin forward like Susan Crawford for state Supreme Court and Dr. Jill Underly for reelection to superintendent.
“When I went to Wisconsin to knock doors last month, folks told me they don’t want billionaires like Elon Musk running our federal government and they certainly don’t want him buying our elections,” said Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin. “After what I heard on the ground, we’re investing earlier than ever before. The best way to curb Elon Musk’s influence is to organize everywhere, win races, and stop him in his tracks. Right-wing billionaire money is allergic to grassroots organizing, which is why Democrats will call more than 2 million Wisconsin voters — hosting 12 text and phone banks and sending thousands of volunteers into action. The DNC is all hands on deck, because Wisconsin is not for sale.”
“With Wisconsin voters up against the world’s richest man, this is an all-hands-on-deck moment and we’re thrilled to have the support of the DNC in this fight,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler. “Elections in Wisconsin often come down to a hairsbreadth, and every voter we can turn out to support Judge Susan Crawford and Dr. Jill Underly on April 1 can make the difference between keeping Wisconsin on a path of progress or letting Elon Musk and Donald Trump drag us backwards.”
The DNC is supporting the work of the Wisconsin Democratic coordinated campaign. The Wisconsin Democratic Party recently announced their “People vs. Musk” campaign to fight back against Musk trying to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court election.
In addition to this investment, in Wisconsin:
- New DNC Chair Ken Martin is laser-focused on winning elections at every level and that’s why he campaigned in Wisconsin for the Democratic coordinated ticket last month.
- Last month, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin hosted a Grassroots Canvass Kickoff and door knocking event featuring new DNC Chair Ken Martin in support of the Wisconsin Democratic coordinated campaign ahead of April’s crucial elections. The event was held to energize and mobilize volunteers across Milwaukee in support of Judge Susan Crawford, Dr. Jill Underly, and other local candidates who will move Wisconsin forward.
- The DNC invested six figures in the Wisconsin Democratic coordinated campaign in 2023.
- In total, the DNC invested nearly $23 million into Wisconsin in the 2024 cycle.
- The DNC invests year round in every state party, including the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, to help with operations, voter protection services, data resources, and tech support.
