Democratic Party of Milwaukee County Elects New Executive Board

MILWAUKEE – The Democratic Party of Milwaukee County elected new leadership at its membership meeting on November 17, 2025, held at the Washington Park Senior Center. The following individuals were elected:

Brett Timmerman – Chair
KeJuane Jennings – Vice Chair
Brady Coulthard – Treasurer
Marissa Nowling – Corresponding Secretary
Patricia Ruiz-Cantú – Recording Secretary
Eddie Phanichkul – Membership Secretary

Outgoing Chair State Representative Christine Sinicki expressed her support of the new leadership: “Four and a half years ago, I proudly took on the volunteer role of Chair of the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County. In that time, we’ve been through two Presidential campaigns, two Gubernatorial elections, three Supreme Court victories, two U.S. Senate elections, and countless local races. It has been an honor—but it’s time for a younger, more diverse leadership team to carry this work forward. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together, and I’m excited to see new leadership take us into the future.”

Chair-elect Brett Timmeran stated: “I ran for Chair with the intention of flipping the State Legislature in 2026, ensuring a Democrat is Governor of Wisconsin, winning big in the Supreme Court election this April, and gearing up to send Ron Johnson packing. I am grateful to all the members who show up to vote in this election and look forward to working to build the infrastructure necessary to win future elections.”

Timmerman is a lifelong Wisconsinite who moved to Milwaukee in 2007 after graduating from UW-Platteville. He currently serves as a member-at-large on the County Party’s Executive Board and was named Democrat of the Year in 2019 after hosting more than twenty fundraisers during the 2018 midterms. He’s an active member of the Milwaukee Rotary Club and volunteers with LGBTQ+ organizations, local schools, and causes supporting families navigating cystic fibrosis. Brett lives in the Brady Street neighborhood with his husband and their two toddlers.

318 ballots were cast in the election. The new leadership will assume office on January 1, 2026.
