Dawn Peterson Named Vice President of Finance and Administration at Alverno College

Milwaukee, (Feb. 8, 2022) – Dawn Peterson, CPA, MS, has been named vice president of Finance and Administration at Alverno College, President Andrea Lee, IHM, announced. She will assume the role on February 14.

Peterson, who has extensive experience in tax, accounting and strategic management, will oversee the college’s Finance Department, Business Office, Information Services and Information Systems departments, Plant Operations and Facilities departments, and Technology Services. She will also serve as a member of the college’s executive leadership team, which reports directly to the president and is charged with implementing Alverno’s strategic plan.

Peterson is currently the finance manager for Liturgical Publications, for which she oversees all financial and administrative functions, including process improvement and budgeting. Before that, she served as tax director at Baird, where she was a trusted advisor to business unit leaders and department heads, while also working regularly with the CEO and chief financial officer.

“At every stage of her career, Dawn has demonstrated deep skill in financial reporting, risk management, and the development and maintenance of budgets and necessary accompanying controls,” said Lee. ““We are thrilled to have such a skilled and mission-driven executive on board.”

Peterson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
