MILWAUKEE, OCTOBER 28, 2021– Legendary Milwaukee creative director, Gary Mueller who has helped hundreds of non-profits with pro-bono public service campaigns in Milwaukee will be inducted into the Wisconsin Advertising Hall of Fame during the ad industry’s annual 99 Show, Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Mueller, who is a creative director at Milwaukee ad agency BVK and founder of the non-profit Serve Marketing, joins Bader Rutter Chairman Greg Nickerson and nationally-renowned illustrator, Matt Zumbo as 2021 Hall of Fame inductees.

The Wisconsin Advertising Hall of Fame, established in 2012, honors the achievements and preserves the work of Wisconsin’s most outstanding advertising, marketing and design professionals and is considered Wisconsin advertising’s highest honor.

Mueller started his career as a business-to-business and agricultural equipment writer at Brady Company and Bader Rutter, before landing a job with Birdsall-Voss and Kloppenburg in 1989 (now known as BVK). As Creative Director, Mueller helped transform the tiny boutique agency into a national creative powerhouse and one of the country’s 25 largest independent agencies. Mueller was also instrumental in  helping to start the United Adworkers Ad Club, after the ad community became fractured in the late 1990’s. Mueller was the club’s first President, a title he held three different times.

Mueller is best known for his generosity in giving back to the community. His nationally-recognized and often provocative public service campaigns helped put underfunded and invisible causes like shaken baby syndrome, human trafficking, teen pregnancy, brain injury and teen homelessness on the map. Often leading to a significant reduction in once dangerous behaviors. His bold and sometimes controversial 7-year campaign to reduce the teen birth rate in Milwaukee is attributed to playing a significant role in helping to reduce teen pregnancy by over 65%.

Mueller joins an illustrious list of past Hall of Fame inductees, including Dennis FrankenberryHerb Kohler, Willie G DavidsonSteve EichenbaumBob UeckerSteve Laughlin and Jake Leinenkugel.

The induction ceremony will be held at the historic Bottlehouse 42 in downtown Milwaukee, part of The Ninety Nine Adworkers Showcase, which honors the best advertising work done in Milwaukee and throughout Wisconsin. Doors to the event open at 5:30 pm and the official ceremony begins at 7:00. Tickets are $35 and are still available online.

The inductees and other works can be found online at the Hall of Fame’s permanent digital home. http://www.wisconsinadvertisinghalloffame.com/
