Today the Common Council adopted a resolution directing the City Clerk to expend from the resources reserved in the Council-Led Transfer Fund. This $2.4 million will support efforts such as services to immigrant and refugee communities, participatory budgeting, homelessness outreach and prevention, funding for block clubs and neighborhood associations, support for housing rehabilitation, and much more.

It is with deep gratitude and appreciation that we thank our colleagues for their support of this resolution. This is a true reflection of the voices and concerns of our residents, and is a testament to what we can achieve when we prioritize people over politics.

This is more than just a financial allocation – it is a statement of our values, our priorities, and our commitment to a stronger, more inclusive Milwaukee. All those who have continued to make their voices heard should be proud of what they helped accomplish.

We also want to thank the organizations on the ground doing this work day in and day out to uplift those in need. You are the backbone of our community and the reason we know this funding will make a difference.
