Congresswoman Gwen Moore Endorses Kent Lovern for Milwaukee County District Attorney

MILWAUKEE – Kent Lovern, candidate for Milwaukee County District Attorney, received an endorsement from Congresswoman Gwen Moore today.

“I am proud to endorse Kent Lovern for Milwaukee County District Attorney,” stated Congresswoman Moore. “Kent’s dedication to the safety of our community and his efforts to engage with and support our residents are exactly what our community needs.”

“I worked closely with Kent on the building of the Sojourner Family Peace Center, which is now a national model for how to help rebuild families affected by domestic violence,” Moore continued, “His proven track record in building partnerships and advocating for equitable justice systems aligns directly with the values and needs of our community.”

Lovern is a seasoned prosecutor with over a quarter-century of dedicated service to Milwaukee, serving as the Chief Deputy District Attorney since 2008. Lovern has been at the forefront of community engagement initiatives, working closely with local organizations and residents to address crucial issues such as domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse.

“Receiving Congresswoman Moore’s endorsement is a tremendous honor,” said Lovern. “Her advocacy for Milwaukee’s families and communities has always been an inspiration to me. Together, we share a vision for a Milwaukee County where safety and justice are accessible to all, and where community engagement is the cornerstone of our justice system.”

Kent’s candidacy is marked by his commitment to enhancing safety, ensuring fairness, and building a supportive and inclusive community. His approach to justice involves not just proactive law enforcement, but also a focus on preventive measures and collaborative efforts with community stakeholders.

Kent lives in Shorewood with his wife Susan and their two sons. His deep roots in the community and his commitment to public service reflect his lifelong dedication to making Milwaukee County a better place for all its residents.

Kent will run in the Partisan Primary as a Democrat on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 and the General Election on November 5, 2024.
