City seeks public input for Community Development Block Grant Funding
Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, chair of the Community and Economic Development Committee, and Community Development Grants Administration (CDGA) will be soliciting public comments on proposed funding categories for the Year 2023 Community Development Funding Allocation Plan (FAP) during TWO virtual public hearings at 6 p.m. – one TODAY (Tuesday, October 11) and a second hearing tomorrow – Wednesday, October 12.
The FAP incorporates strategic direction for the following grants:
- Community Development Block Grant
- HOME Investment Partnerships
- Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG)
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA covers the four-county Milwaukee metropolitan area)
The Funding Allocation Plan is available for public review on the CDGA website at www.Milwaukee.gov/CDGA.
“We are inviting community members to play an integral and positive role in the CDBG funding process and we strongly encourage neighbors to make plans to virtually attend one or both of the public hearings,” Alderman Stamper said.
Written comments on the 2023 Funding Allocation Plan can be submitted during the public comment period (ending October 28) to Mr. Steven L. Mahan; Director, Community Development Grants Administration; City Hall – 200 E. Wells Street, Room 606; Milwaukee, WI. 53202.
