City of Milwaukee Black History Month to Conclude with Festivities Scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25

he City of Milwaukee will conclude its 28 Days of Black History effort with a public celebration hosted Tuesday, February 25 at 12 p.m. in the first-floor rotunda at City Hall (200 E. Wells St.). The 9th annual program will include music, dance, the pouring of libations, free food/refreshments, and more. Additionally, the celebration will recognize and honor local icons for their outstanding contributions to Black history, as well as recognize a local Living Legend, Anna Mae Robertson, and Emerging Leader, Victoria Tatum, for their efforts within the community. The profiles, photos, and stories of these honorees are available on the official city website (city.milwaukee.gov).

The 28 Days of Black History effort, now in its ninth year and led by Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, Alderman Mark Chambers, Jr., Alderwoman Andrea Pratt, Alderman Lamont Westmoreland, Alderwoman Larresa Taylor, Alderwoman Sharlen P. Moore, and Alderman DiAndre Jackson, is a program designed to celebrate Milwaukee’s Black history and recognize its many exceptional contributors. The Council members highly encourage the public to partake in the campaign’s closing festivities on February 25.
