Chairwoman Dimitrijevic Applauds Governor Walker’s Support of the Family Justice Center
Center Would Serve Many of Milwaukee County’s Most Vulnerable
Milwaukee – Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Dimitrijevic applauds Governor Walker’s investment of state funding for the “Family Justice Center,” a joint effort of Sojourner Family Peace Center and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
The Center, which would be a collaboration of agencies, resources and services, would transform the way domestic violence is addressed in Milwaukee County.
Chairwoman Dimitrijevic issued the following statement:
“I sincerely thank Governor Walker for his commitment to Milwaukee County’s families through his proposed budget allocation. I was honored to join the Governor as well as Sojourner Family Peace Center Executive Director Carmen Pitre and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin President and CEO Peggy Troy for this important announcement today.
As I wrote in my letter of support of the project last year, not only will the Family Justice Center more effectively serve families impacted by domestic violence and child abuse, the larger community will benefit from this project through improved community engagement.”
