Response to COVID-19 outbreak includes closing taproom to general public, suspending brewery tours and the postponement of “Captain Pabst Day” event on March 28

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (March 16, 2020) – In light of the recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to avoid gatherings of 50 or more, the Captain Pabst Pilot House has suspended public operations effective immediately.

This will affect bar and food operations, all scheduled concerts/activities and tours of the Pabst Milwaukee Brewery. In addition, the “Captain Pabst Day” celebration, previously scheduled for March 28, will be postponed to a later date.

“This was a difficult decision, but one we make in the best interest of our visitors, our staff and the community at large,” said General Manager Adam Powers. “We encourage people to hang in there during this challenging time. We’ll be back, ready to rock, as soon as we’re able.”

The Captain Pabst Pilot House is located in a historic 145-year old building on the original Pabst complex – the former First German Methodist Church located on the corner of Juneau Avenue and 11th Street, in Milwaukee’s Brewery District.
