Brewers Announce 2021 Coaching Staff
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have announced their coaching staff for the 2021 season. The announcement was made by President of Baseball Operations and General Manager David Stearns.
Assistant hitting coach Jacob Cruz (enters his 2nd season), hitting coach Andy Haines (3rd season), pitching coach Chris Hook (3rd season), bullpen coach Steve Karsay (3rd season) and bench coach Pat Murphy (6th season) will all return with manager Craig Counsell (seventh season). Jason Lane, who served as first base coach last season and as assistant hitting coach in his previous four seasons, will return as a base coach. Walker McKinven returns as associate pitching, catching and strategy coach.
Ed Sedar, one of the longest-tenured coaches in franchise history (2007-20), will transition to advisor to the Major League coaching staff. Sedar previously served the Brewers as first base coach (2007-10) and third base coach (2011-20). He also worked for the organization as Minor League outfield and baserunning coordinator (1992-2006) and Minor League field coordinator (2002-06).
The Brewers will have a pair of new bullpen catchers for the 2021 season in Néstor Corredor, who will also serve as an instructor, and Adam Weisenburger. Corredor was slated to be a coach at Double-A Biloxi in 2020 after spending his first 10 seasons on the staff as a manager at the Rookie level. Weisenburger was a catcher in the Brewers farm system from 2011-17.
