Bay View’s No Instructions Gallery Announces Partnership with New Exhibition Space, Addendum

Milwaukee, WI — January 2026 — No Instructions Gallery is excited to announce the launch of Addendum, a new exhibition space located directly beside the gallery’s original Bay View location at 2120 E. Rusk Ave. Addendum is a collaboration between James Stepanek, founder of No Instructions, and curator and artist Tanner MacArthur.

Addendum grew naturally out of the momentum No Instructions has felt since opening in May 2025. The Bay View community has been welcoming and engaged, and the enthusiasm around contemporary art in the neighborhood made the decision to expand an easy one. When the space next door became available, the opportunity was too good to pass up. Addendum and No Instructions Gallery will work collaboratively as well as independently to present a range of diverse voices from the midwest and beyond. Co-directed by Stepanek and MacArthur, Addendum will launch its programming on January 30 with a reception from 5-9 pm. The exhibit Finding a Place will feature work by local artists Jimmy Cobb, Ellie Hogan, Meg White, Caesar Nguyen and Reese Rousseau.

James Stepanek is a creative director and curator living in Bay View. He received his BFA from Kent State University and has worked to build No Instructions Gallery into a growing hub for emerging and established artists in Milwaukee. Tanner MacArthur is an artist and curator working between Milwaukee, WI and Brooklyn, NY. He received his BA from Lawrence University and MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

Together, Stepanek and MacArthur aim to broaden the conversation around contemporary art in the city. Addendum will function as a nucleus for emerging artists in Milwaukee, while also highlighting experimental and risk-taking work that responds to the space.

Operating hours will be Saturdays from 10am to 4 pm, or by appointment.
