Another Top Tier Senate Contender Bows Out of Race
AP broke the news that Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch has decided not to enter the GOP primary for U.S. Senate.
MADISON — Today, Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin scared another contender for the GOP nomination out of the race. AP broke the news that Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch has decided not to enter the crowded GOP “yacht sale” primary for U.S. Senate. This follows a string of other candidates announcing they won’t challenge Senator Baldwin, including US House Representatives Sean Duffy and Glenn Grothman as well as Governor Scott Walker. Although an assortment of former Democrats, former primary losers, and radical conservatives have floated their names, Republicans have so far failed to field any candidates to run against Tammy.
“Wisconsinites support Tammy Baldwin because they are tired of the Washington establishment and special interests screwing the working people of this state,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “It’s no wonder why another well-known GOP contender like Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch has announced they will not enter the nasty GOP yacht sale primary.”
