Andraca Endorsed by Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals
WHITEFISH BAY – The Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (WFNHP) announced their endorsement for Deb Andraca in her race for Wisconsin’s 23rd Assembly District. Deb Andraca released the following statement on the endorsement:
“I am honored to have this endorsement from the organization representing nurses and our front-line healthcare workers,” said Andraca. “Since the start of this pandemic, Republican leaders in Madison have refused to show up, filed lawsuit after lawsuit, and all without any plan to control the virus. If they’re serious about helping healthcare workers, they would show up and pass the Healthcare Heroes Act, which would provide hazard pay, paid medical leave, and insurance coverage for COVID-19 testing and treatment. We can’t have a healthy economy without healthy people, and that starts on the frontlines of the pandemic.”
Jeff Weber, RN, President of the Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals released the following statement on the endorsement: “Nurses and healthcare workers have been on the frontlines of this pandemic for 7 months. We’ve been asking for support from our legislators, but while we’ve gone to work every day to care for our communities, Jim Ott has not shown up to do his job and help us in any way. Deb Andraca has already done more to support healthcare workers in this crisis than her opponent, and we desperately need her leadership. She has our backs, and we have hers. From expanding access to healthcare to ensuring that nurses and health professionals can afford to stay at home if they are infected with COVID-19 at work, Deb Andraca has a plan for a healthier Wisconsin. We are proud to endorse her campaign and look forward to her leadership.”
