Amber Raffeet August Announces Campaign for Milwaukee County Circuit Court
MILWAUKEE— Today, Judge Amber Raffeet August proudly announced her candidacy to serve a full six-year term on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court – Branch 14. Appointed by Governor Tony Evers just weeks ago, Raffeet August is determined to further her commitment to the Milwaukee community through her service on the bench.
In her brief tenure, Judge Raffeet August has already begun shaping a courtroom centered around understanding, compassion, and a genuine pursuit of justice for all parties. Her emphasis on a holistic view of each individual resonates with both litigants and her peers in the judicial community.
Before her current role, Raffeet August had an impactful legal career that spanned diverse areas from her dedicated service as an Assistant Family Court Commissioner to representing survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at the RISE Law Center. Her leadership as the past president of the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers (WAAL) highlighted her unwavering commitment to representation and equity in the legal field.
A Milwaukee native, Judge Raffeet August is a graduate of University of Wisconsin Law School. She resides in Glendale with her family, deeply rooted in and devoted to the community she serves.
The Branch 14 election is slated for April 2, 2024. Should more than two candidates enter the race, a primary will be held on February 20.
