Amalgamated Transit Union Local 998 Endorses Senator Chris Larson for Milwaukee County Executive

Milwaukee, WI – Amalgamated Transit Union Local 998 endorsed State Senator Chris Larson today in his bid for Milwaukee County Executive.
The International Amalgamated Transit Union is the largest labor organization representing transit workers in the United States and Canada. Composed of bus drivers, light rail operators, maintenance and clerical personnel and other transit and municipal employees, the ATU works to promote transit issues and fights for the interests of its hard-working members. Amalgamated Transit Union Local 998 has over 1,137 active members, including 661 retirees.

Chris has always been an advocate for transit workers and transit riders. He knows this county must move forward with improved transit and dedicated funding to make it happen.”
Senator Larson said “ATU was my first endorsement when I ran for County Board and again when I ran against a 14-year incumbent for State Senate. I’m honored to earn their endorsement today. ATU knows that we can’t rely on someone to learn as they go on this job, we need someone who has fought these fights and knows where to go on dedicated revenue, budget transparency, and increasing ridership. ATU workers – like our bus drivers – are often the public’s #1 interaction with the county government. As County Executive, I’ll listen to the transit workers to answer their concerns regarding everything from security to increasing services as a way to combat segregation and for access to family-supporting jobs.”
Chris Larson is the State Senator for Wisconsin’s 7th District and former Milwaukee County Supervisor. Larson grew up in Greenfield and is a life-long resident of Milwaukee County. Larson is running for Milwaukee County Executive to build a county where every Milwaukeean can thrive.
