AFP-WI Calls Out Governor Evers on Harmful Tax Increases

By - Jan 22nd, 2025 07:11 pm

Madison, WI – During his State of the State address, Governor Evers falsely took credit for legislature led tax cuts and failed to acknowledge that his veto of middle-class tax cuts created even greater tax increases, including a 400-year property tax hike.

AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:

“It’s ironic that during his address, Governor Evers tried to take credit for the legislature’s tax cuts and pretends like he will do more, while in reality the only thing Evers is responsible for is vetoing much needed middle-class tax cuts and implementing a 400-year property tax hike with the stroke of the veto pen.

“AFP will continue to work closely with the legislature to protect Wisconsinites from Evers’ harmful tax hikes.”
