Ald. Russell Stamper, II
Press Release

A family’s pain now greatly compounded

Statement of Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II October 30, 2019

By - Oct 30th, 2019 12:03 pm

A’Mea N. Gee, the 4-year-old girl who suffered critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash while crossing the street last week at N. 22nd and W. Center, died yesterday. Her 6-year-old sister, Lisa Z. Gee, was killed at the scene of the crash, caused by a reckless driver who drove around vehicles that had stopped for a red light.

My prayers and condolences go to the family and I am asking the community to lend support in any and every manner.

The family is devastated and their already unbearable pain is compounded by the loss of little A’Mea. As a father I cannot imagine losing a child and it is up to the community to show its love and support to A’Mea’s family at this incredibly sad and difficult time. I also ask for prayers of healing and recovery for the cousin of the girls – 10-year-old Drevyze Rayford – who was also injured in the incident.

Milwaukee Police have arrested individuals in connection with the incident and charges are expected.

The family has set up a Go Fund Me page – https://www.gofundme.com/f/1sk7odiphc to secure donations.

Please give if you are able, as the family can use the donations and is in great need of assistance.
