Milwaukee, WI — November 19, 2025 — This Thanksgiving season, The Gathering is proud to continue one of Milwaukee’s longest-running shared meal traditions — now in its 40th year — serving turkey dinners and homemade pies to neighbors across the city who need it most.

In partnership with the Hunger Task Force, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, the Turkey Club and five local churches, more than 125 turkeys will be prepared, cooked, and served on Saturday, November 22, with the help of dedicated Komatsu Mining Corporation volunteers.

For over four decades, The Gathering has brought together churches, corporations, and individuals in a spirit of gratitude and community service. This year’s collaboration is a testament to Milwaukee’s deep-rooted commitment to ensuring everyone has a place at the table.

“Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, and our community has so much to be thankful for,” said Lyn Hildrenbrand, Executive Director of The Gathering. “For 40 years, this shared meal has represented hope, compassion, and unity. We are honored to continue this tradition with our partners and volunteers who make it all possible.”

As families across the region face increased need due to funding shifts, federal program changes, and rising food insecurity, the impact of partnerships like this one is more meaningful than ever. Through collective effort, The Gathering continues to provide nutritious meals and a welcoming environment for all who come through its doors.

This annual Thanksgiving meal program stands as one of the longest-running collaborative food service efforts in Milwaukee’s history, and The Gathering remains proud to serve its neighbors with kindness, dignity, and gratitude.
