MKE Yoga Social and Light the Hoan Bring “Lit From Within” to Milwaukee August 27
MILWAUKEE, WI — MKE Yoga Social and Light the Hoan are teaming up for Lit From Within, a free community event bringing together movement, music, art, wellness and local businesses on Thursday, August 27 from 6:30–10 PM.
What began five years ago as Glow Yoga under the Hoan has grown into a two-location evening designed to bring Milwaukee together while supporting Light the Hoan.
The night begins at Light the Hoan, 531 S Water St, with Glow Yoga, the Chase the DJ Run, DJs, glow body painting, glow portraits, food, beverages and local businesses.
From there, the celebration continues down Water Street at Boone & Crockett and The Cooperage, 818 S Water St, beginning around 8:30 PM. Guests can explore massage and wellness experiences, mini hand treatments, flash tattoos, permanent jewelry, tarot and readings, local makers, food and drinks, and two 20-minute riverside restorative stretch sessions.
Two specially programmed Light the Hoan bridge light shows will take place during the Glow Social at approximately 9 PM and 9:30 PM.
The event will also feature a community raffle with more than $1,500 in donated prizes from Milwaukee-area businesses, including a private 30-minute Light the Hoan bridge show valued at $500. Raffle proceeds benefit Light the Hoan.
Boone & Crockett will offer a special Bumpin Blueberries cocktail during the event, with $1 from every cocktail sold donated to Light the Hoan, along with an N/A Grapefruit Radler.
“Lit From Within has always been about creating a different way to experience wellness,” said Jessica Hope, founder of MKE Yoga Social. “You can move, explore, meet people, grab a drink, discover a local business or just come hang out. We want wellness to feel social, accessible and genuinely fun.”
Lit From Within is free to attend, and guests are welcome to participate in one portion of the evening or experience the entire event. Advance registration is encouraged for select activities due to limited capacity.
