MILWAUKEEMarquette University women’s basketball announced the signing of transfer guard Yu Han Lin, head coach Cara Consuegra announced Tuesday. Lin spent her freshman season at Middle Tennessee.

“Yu Han is a complete guard who impacts winning on both ends of the floor,” Consuegra said. “She scores efficiently at the rim, in the mid‑range, and from beyond the arc, while handling pressure with poise and pace. Her speed in transition will ignite the break, and her high‑level vision allows her to create for teammates in both half-court and open‑floor situations. Defensively, she applies consistent ball pressure and plays with toughness and a relentless motor. Yu Han plays every possession with passion, physicality, and a true next‑play mentality, consistently making winning plays.”

The 5-foot-9 native of Hualien, Taiwan appeared in 33 games last season for the Blue Raiders, averaging 4.7 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 13.2 minutes per game, while shooting 40.8% from the field. She had eight double-figure scoring games and posted a season-high 20 points against Memphis. Lin played at least 20 minutes nine times during the year with six of those seeing her dish out at least three assists.

Internationally, Lin has represented Chinese Taipei at multiple FIBA competitions. At the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup, she averaged 10.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. She followed that performance with another 10.6 points per game at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup (Division A), adding 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest, while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Across three major FIBA youth events since 2023, she has averaged 11.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Last season, Lin was one of four active Taiwanese basketball players at the NCAA Division I basketball level (men’s and women’s).
