Regional Transit Advocacy Organization Recognizes 2025 “Transit Champions”
MILWAUKEE — A regional transit advocacy organization is recognizing two “Transit Champions” as part of its annual year-end celebration on December 3. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson will be on hand to present one of the awards and celebrate the accomplishments of these two outstanding community advocates.
MobiliSE’s Lifetime Transit Champion Award
This award will go to John Kissinger, CEO of GRAEF USA and a co-founder of MobiliSE. Kissinger led the formation of MobiliSE, which has reimagined regional transit and spearheaded the development of FlexRide Milwaukee—a workforce rideshare service that has provided 60,000 rides to work in 2025 alone.
MobiliSE’s Bill Sell Transit Champion Award
This award will go to Joyce Tang Boyland, a Milwaukee-based community activist and transportation advocate. Tang Boyland leads an all-volunteer initiative to build and install benches at bus stops throughout the city. She has also led efforts to ensure safe streets for pedestrians and transit riders across Milwaukee.
The Bill Sell Transit Champion Award is named in honor of the late Bill Sell, a longtime advocate for biking, walking, and transit in Milwaukee and beyond.
