Milwaukee County Child Support Services to Host Community Open House at Coggs Center
The community, especially parents and families, are invited to learn more about services and meet the team
MILWAUKEE – On Thursday, October 2, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Child Support Services (CSS) division will host a Community Open House at the Marcia P. Coggs Health and Human Services Center, 1230 W. Cherry Street, Milwaukee. The event will highlight the new Coggs building as a satellite location for Child Support Services that accepts payments and provides case management. Child support payments via cash and card will now be accepted at the WisGo window in the lobby of the Coggs building. The Community Open House will also feature laptop giveaways, driver’s license recovery services, light refreshments, and community partners who will be available to offer services for the public.
In March, Milwaukee County DHHS Child Support Services, Milwaukee County Parks, and prominent community members including Gee Smith of Gee’s Clippers and Author Kwabena Nixon announced seven new satellite locations for Milwaukee County Child Support Services. The goal is to better connect fathers and families with case management services and cash kiosks. Now that the new Coggs Center is open to the public, CSS is inviting people to visit and check out the new location.
Members of the public are encouraged to connect with Child Support Services either by calling (414) 615-2593 or email milwcse@milwaukeecountywi.gov. There are resources available for residents and families to modify orders, clear outstanding child support warrants, assist with employment searches, and help people fully understand the details of their case.
The effort to create CSS satellite locations and provide easier access to Child Support Services is part of Milwaukee County’s first strategic plan in more than 20 years. The strategic planning goals will help ensure Milwaukee County meets customer needs, creates better coordination, and delivers quality services. As part of DHHS’s No World Door model of care, it is also a priority for County staff to better connect residents and families with a range of programs and services.
