Spooktacular Fun Awaits as Milwaukee County Parks Hosts Two Family-friendly Halloween Celebrations
MILWAUKEE, WI — This October, Milwaukee County Parks is brewing two magical Halloween events where families can safely enjoy the spooky season together. Mark your calendars for these can’t-miss festivities!
1. Halloween Haunts at Wehr Nature Center
- Dates: October 16 – 18, 2025
- Time: Entry start times range from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Location: Wehr Nature Center, 9701 W College Ave, Franklin, WI 53132

- Admission: $15 per person; $12 for Friends of Wehr members. A parking fee of $5 is also payable online during registration (non-members).

- Details: Step into the magic of the 37th Annual Halloween Haunts at Wehr Nature Center. For three enchanting nights, the forest comes alive with whimsical woodland creatures including a cackling witch, a talking owl, and even rapping bugs. More than 300 glowing Jack-o’-lanterns light the woodland trails, creating a cozy, not-too-spooky atmosphere that’s perfect for families.
- Designed especially for children ages 4-10, this beloved tradition offers “fun, not fright,” making it an ideal way to celebrate Halloween without the scares. Guests are guided through the Enchanted Forest by costumed characters like owls, frogs, and skunks, ensuring plenty of surprises and smiles along the way.
- Note: Strollers are not permitted. Babies in carriers/backpacks enter free. A maximum of 16 tickets may be purchased per household.

2. Trick-or-Treat & Resource Fair at Kosciuszko Community Center

- Time: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
- Location: Kosciuszko Community Center, in the Gym, 2201 S. Seventh St., Milwaukee, WI 53215

- Details: Organized by Milwaukee County Parks and the Kosciuszko Advisory Board, this event invites all local “ghouls and boos” for an evening of festive fun. Families can enjoy a piñata, cookie decorating, face painting, a costume contest, safe trick-or-treating, spooky activities, and the opportunity to connect with community resource vendors.
