MILWAUKEE – County Board Supervisors Eckblad and Martinez celebrated the completion of critical renovations to the HVAC system at the Wilson Senior Center this morning. The improvements will provide a safer, healthier, and more comfortable environment for the hundreds of seniors who rely on the center each year for recreation, wellness, and community connection.

“Even amidst strong budget headwinds, Milwaukee County is committed to serving and representing our seniors,” said Supervisor Jack Eckblad. “The Wilson Senior Center is a vital community hub, and this renovation ensures that older adults have a safe and welcoming place to gather, learn, and thrive.”

“Our elders deserve spaces that prioritize their health and comfort,” said Supervisor Juan Miguel Martinez, who emphasized the importance of investing in facilities that serve the county’s growing senior population. “These upgrades are an example of how we can meet those needs, even when resources are tight.”

The Wilson Senior Center provides a wide range of services and activities designed to support aging residents. With the upgraded HVAC system, the facility is now better equipped to host programming year-round in a safe and climate-controlled environment. Efforts to prioritize seniors amid fiscal challenges underscore Milwaukee County’s broader commitment to equity and quality of life across all communities.
