Milwaukee County Launches New Audit Dashboard, Expanding Public Access to County Oversight
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County has launched a new public audit dashboard that gives residents an unprecedented window into the County’s audit work, including audits currently underway and completed audits dating back to 2012.
Milwaukee County Supervisor Jack Eckblad, Chair of the Board’s Committee on Audit, applauded the county staff who developed the dashboard and continue to carry out the County’s audit work.
“Transparency is about more than putting information online; it is about making sure people can actually find it and understand what their County government is doing,” said Supervisor Eckblad. “I want to commend our audit staff and everyone across Milwaukee County who contributed to making this information more accessible. Their work gives residents a clearer picture of how the County is operating, where we can improve, and how we are working to be good stewards of public resources.”
The new dashboard brings audit information together in one accessible, public-facing resource. Residents can explore audits that are currently in progress, as well as completed audits dating back to 2012, providing a broader view of the County’s oversight work over time.
The dashboard includes information on a range of County operations and services, including audits examining the Milwaukee County Jail and Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS). Making these audits easier to find and understand lets residents see the work being done to evaluate County programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen accountability.
The dashboard is part of Milwaukee County’s ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency and make government information more accessible to the public.
